On Falgun 12th, in Kathmandu, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, disclosed that plans smaller than three crore rupees would be kept at the local and provincial levels instead of being included in the federal government's budget.
Speaking at the parliamentary party meeting of the Maoist Center at Singhadarbar on Saturday morning, Prime Minister Prachanda highlighted the importance of federalism in strengthening the economy through financial decentralization. He emphasized that development and prosperity cannot be achieved solely by allocating funds in the budget. Instead, strategic plans of utmost importance would be retained at the federal level, while smaller projects below three crore rupees would be delegated to the provinces and local levels. He mentioned that many new plans are yet to be implemented, and the remaining budget from old projects would be reallocated for budgeting. Prachanda stressed the need to end the practice of allocating excess funds to titles where expenditure cannot be incurred and to ensure that necessary projects are adequately funded. He stated that the government remains committed to completing old projects.
