On February 9, in Kathmandu, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to stage demonstrations across the country starting today after handing over 40 memorandum letters to the Prime Minister.
According to spokesperson Mohan Shrestha, RPP has demanded the restoration of monarchy and Hindu state, rejection of provincial structure, a two-tier government system with strong center and elected local bodies, corruption control, adherence to good governance, and direct relevance to nationality, development, good governance, service delivery, and public welfare, among other various 40 demands of long-term national interest.
Starting today, there will be pressure-oriented demonstrations in various district headquarters including Kathmandu, informed Shrestha. Programs are scheduled to hand over memorandum letters to the government through chief district officers in all districts along with demonstrations. The RPP is gearing up for protests and assemblies across the country, with the first phase focusing on Kathmandu.
