Kathmandu, 13th Falgun - The Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) has drawn the government's attention to dismiss ministers involved in misconduct and irregularities.
In a parliamentary meeting on Sunday, Maoist leader Prem Dhamal indicated that the Prime Minister would have to respond regarding the controversial ministers without delay. He stated, "We never want to obstruct the parliament at any time. However, when the opposition raises issues that need attention, the parliament has been obstructed in the past." He added, "The ministers involved in misconduct and irregularities have been dismissed."
Questions have been raised regarding the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transportation, Prakash Jwala, and the Minister of Health and Population, Mahesh Basnet. The government commission formed to investigate the incident of two youths' deaths in Lalitpur has reportedly cited Minister Jwala's presence as a reason.
Health Minister Basnet is under scrutiny for alleged misuse of authority in the procurement of thermometers. He has also given a statement after reaching the authorities.
The Maoist party demands that the Prime Minister respond to the controversial ministers.
"For the past six days, we have been demanding the immediate dismissal of Home Minister, who is responsible for the Balukumari incident, and the resignation of the Health Minister under investigation," said Maoist Chief Secretary Prem Dhamal.
