The budget ceiling for the next year was set at 18 trillion



Kathmandu, February 4. A cap of 18 trillion has been placed on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2081–2022. This data, which the Finance Minister Dr. Prakasharan Mahat was the one who gave it.

At a Friday event at the ministry, Minister Mahat said that a cap of Rs. had been imposed by the National Planning Commission's vice chairman's resource committee.

He informed that while fixing the ceiling, there is constant discussion between the concerned agencies, but there is no dispute.

Finance Minister Mahat said that the half-yearly review of the current year's budget does not mean that the decrease in expenditure estimates means that the budget has decreased.


In the press conference, Minister Mahat said that the Ministry of Finance alone cannot amend the budget passed by the Parliament, and he informed that it was only estimated that the expenditure and income targets would not be met.


Minister Mahat said that he had to hold a press conference after printing the news explaining that the budget had been reduced by the media.
