Kathmandu, January 29. The question of joining the Maoist party remains uncertain, according to a briefing provided by CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.
A politician who attended the meeting claimed that Prachanda stated during his speech to the party's central committee that although party unity was being discussed, no decision had been made.
"We're talking about party unity. The formation of a coordination committee has been decided upon following many discussions with Baburamji's NESP, but no concrete steps have been made. There's still uncertainty. Creating a combined committee with Biplavaji's party is another topic of discussion. However, even that remains unresolved "the leader stated, referencing Prachanda's viewpoint from the meeting.
Prachanda told the workers not to worry too much about maintaining party unity and to concentrate on building this party's strength. "My belief, and what you must realize, is that we should begin building this party from the ground up instead of waiting for rapid unification. "Welcome friends who arrive while we're working on it," Prachanda stated during the meeting.
