On 6th of Falgun, in Kathmandu, the parliamentary session is underway today. The session, scheduled to start at 11 a.m., will include a question-and-answer session between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and members of parliament.
Previously, during the session held on 24th Magh, the Speaker of the House, Devraj Ghimire, had informed that there would be a question-and-answer session with the Prime Minister on 6th of Falgun. For this purpose, he had instructed the parliamentarians to make written questions available by 2nd of Falgun, before 3 p.m., at the Parliament Secretariat.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, 13 members of parliament will be raising questions during today's session, and Prime Minister Prachanda will provide answers to those questions.
As per Chapter 9 of the Parliamentary Regulations 2079, there is a provision for a program of direct question-and-answer session with the Prime Minister. Under this provision, the Speaker determines the first hour of the first meeting of any one day of the first week of each month for raising questions directly related to the Prime Minister or his area of responsibility on important matters.
