Palpa Jeep Accident: 10 Dead, 16 Wounded


 

Tansen, 1 February. In Palpa's Tinau Rural Municipality-6, a jeep accident claimed the lives of 10 individuals while injuring 16.


Tuesday around 4:50 p.m., a jeep with license plate Lu 1 J 2371, traveling from Dumre to Chidis, collided close to the Eco Farmhouse in Masyam, Palpa, killing 7 women and 3 men.

The deceased are Yan Kumari Pant, 60, Urmila Aslami, 28, Ram Bahadur Aslami, 39, and Krin Bahadur Aslami, 67, all of Palpa's Tinau Rural Municipality-6. DSP Sugandh Shrestha, Information Officer, District Police Office Palpa, said that information on the deceased is available.

Likewise, three other residents of Palpa perished in the accident: Bishnukala Kami, 66, of Ribdikot Rural Municipality 1, Palpa; Dil Kumari Sunar, 65; and Geeta Sunar, 20, of Khursane, Tinau Rural Municipality 2, Palpa.

At the same time, DSP Shrestha revealed that Dilmaya Jisi, 29, of Devdah Municipality-5 in Rupandehi, Chandragopal Ranpal, 70, of Butwal sub-metropolis 14 Tamnagar in Rupandehi, and Chuna Ranpal, 60, of Butwal 14 also perished in the tragedy.

Dan Bahadur Chidi, 45, a Palpa resident and member of Tansen Municipality-10, has been taken into custody by the police.

It plummeted roughly 300 meters down the muddy road when the Mustang jeep lost control, according to the police.
Teams were sent from Police Station Prabhas and District Police Office Palpa as soon as they learned about the accident. Once the injured were saved, they were brought to Lumbini Medical College to get care.

The vehicle collision happened because of a heavy load, according to Superintendent of Police Heramv Sharma. Superintendent of Police Sharma stated that the excess weight caused the jeep to back up, which is how the accident happened.
