On the request of farmers, India closed today.

Kathmandu, February 4. India's farmers have declared today to be a national strike. Known together as Gramin Bharat Bandh, farmers' groups such as the United Kisan Morcha.

The agricultural industries in India are closed today, just as rural areas are closed. Additionally shuttered are markets, stores, and other companies. Congress, Communist Party, and other political parties, together with farmers' organizations, have all endorsed this bandh.

According to the Indian media, strict security arrangements have been made in the states including the capital Delhi due to the shutdown.

Indian farmers are demonstrating and demanding the following: a fair price for their produce, the cancellation of agricultural loans, and the withdrawal of proceedings against farmers who were previously convicted for their involvement in such rallies. On February 1st, the farmers initiated the 'Go to Delhi' campaign, their goal being to go to New Delhi, the nation's capital, and convey their demands to the administration. Nevertheless, by blocking the border, many provinces have halted the farmers.

They are sleeping, eating, and living in the open. The cops used tear gas fired from a drone to disperse the farmers.

The government's and farmers' representatives' late-night meeting on Thursday night concluded without a resolution. The conversations reportedly began at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and went until 1:30 a.m., according to the Indian media.

They announced a Friday shutdown from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. when the negotiations broke down.
