On Falgun 6th, in Kathmandu, NCP's General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav' has been appointed as the coordinator of the Samajwadi Front. Today morning, during a meeting of the Unified Socialist Party chaired by the Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, the party decided to appoint Chand as the coordinator.
Following the meeting, NCP Maoist Center's General Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung stated that Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav', who was the General Secretary of NCP, would now lead the Front. Earlier, on July 4, the top leaders of the Maoist Center, the Socialist Party, the Unified Socialist Party, and Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav' announced the formation of the Samajwadi Front. According to the agreement to rotate leadership every four months, initially, the chairmanship was taken over by the Chairman of the NCP Maoist Center Prachanda, followed by Madhav Kumar Nepal.
He said, "According to the agreement to rotate leadership every four months and with the establishment of a mechanism to work alternately, Comrade Madhav Kumar Nepal has led the party for two terms. Now, it's been decided that Comrade Netra Bikram, the General Secretary of NCP, will lead the party in the next term. Today's decision has been made to change the coordinator."
